Miriam Carsana
Miriam Carsana, a prominent opera mezzo-soprano graduated with Honors from Vincenzo Bellini College of Music, in Catania.
Since 2017, she’s been working with soprano singer Barbara Frittoli, baritone singer Natale De Carolis and enhancing the Baroque musical repertoire with contralto singer Sara Mingardo. Ranging from the 1600s to the 1900s, her repertoire encompasses chamber music, Lied and Church music.
She won several international competitions such as the “Amigdala Competition”, First Prize Giuseppe Raciti and Grand Prize Eliodoro Sollima in 2016. In 2022, she was awarded Third Prize at the 34th “Francesco Paolo Neglia” International Competition.
Portraying the main roles, she played in D. Cimarosa’s “Il Matrimonio Segreto”, G. Donizetti’s “Il Campanello”, J. Offenbach’s “Orphèe aux enfers”, and premiered in Antonio Pofi’s “Le Nozze di Leonardo” at Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
She performed a solo recital at Tianjin Gran Theater (China) and sang “Missa Brevis Sanctae Cecilia” conducted and composed by the artistic director Francesco Costa, under conductor Lu Jia’s artistic direction, during the 29th Macao International Music Festival.
On the occasion of the operatic Vicenza Festival in 2021, she performed in a charity concert at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza together with worldwide renowned artists as Amarilli Nizza, Laura Polverelli, Renata Lamanda, Alberto Mastromarino, Natale De Carolis.
